Adobe Flash is a great way to present school projects. It is used for animations on the Web such as advertisements banners and games. This course will explain the principles of animation and how animation was carried out before the use of computers. Students will learn to use the drawing tools in Flash to create their characters and backgrounds. They will learn techniques for producing frame by frame animation tweening special effects with text and graphics such as morphing and also how to add sound to their animation. Each student will carry out a project of their own choice to produce an animated cartoon with original graphics text and sound to take home and share with their friends and family or put on their website. Each student will be provided with step by step instructions in how to use Flash as well as a CD to copy their files.
Graphic Design is the use of graphic elements and text to communicate an idea or concept. This introductory course in basic graphic design will familiarise you with the design process creating layouts along with the design elements and principles. This course will provide you with the tools to create logical designs whether it be for family events or for work. Basic computer skills required. Consecutive weeks from start date. No concession.
We have three choices of projects in this course Ð to cover books that we love dearly to build a book Ð art book scrapbook Journal etc from scratch or to deconstruct an old book and rebind it. We will learn how to build signatures stitch a backbone what tools you can make and what tools are essential. We will discuss the Art of bookbinding as well as the Craft and learn the techniques the workarounds and the shortcuts.
