This lively and social introductory wine course presents an overview of basic winemaking, red and white varieties and styles, Australian viticultural areas, wine with food, and fortified and sparkling wine production. An emphasis is placed on student participation and approximately forty wines are tasted from premium sparkling wine to inexpensive chardonnay. The course is suitable for both the novice and those working in the hospitality industry. Course fee includes the cost of wines tasted, student notes and a set of six professional wine tasting glasses. Participants must be 18 years or over.

Four hours with Ian Bailey a professional wine educator author and accredited Responsible Service of Alcohol Trainer will ensure that your understanding of wine is directed toward continued learning. Train your palate then taste and discuss 8 very good varietal wines. Notes are included. Have a good lunch before you arrive. You must be 18 years or over and prepared to taste wine responsibly.
