The objective of this course is simple but challenging - to enable you to read and understand the original words of some of the greatest Roman authors such as Vergil, Cicero, Tacitus Ovid, Martial and Julius Caesar. This course is designed to introduce you to the Latin language as well as the literature, history and culture of ancient Rome using passages from Roman authors as well as stories from Roman mythology and history. No previous knowledge assumed. This knowledge may also be used in work situations.
