Introduction to Blues Harmonica The Centre for Continuing Education

This course is spaced over three weeks in two hour blocks to give students the best chance to learn some of the skills and techniques required to play in the Blues style. This method of playing is suitable for most western roots and folk music. There will be detailed notes and CD backing tracks supplied for students to practice at home. Guitar will be used in all lessons as accompaniment. The course shall cover the following. - Discussion on history, and styles of playing, basic music theory, cross harp, (the blues secret), blues progressions, simple chords and licks, playing with others, sound effects and other trade secrets - Students will need a 10 hole diatonic harmonica in the key of C. - Minimum of 6 students to run course. - Additional information: Tutor can recommend brands if needed (better to buy a good one).
