Enjoy growing your own miniature trees. You will learn about trees styling pots shaping by pruning wiring and basic horticulture. Each student will be helped to design and pot a small bonsai. The course varies slightly depending on the season. Includes field trips.
Students will learn the basic foundational rules of growing training and presenting the specimen of their choice to maximise and enhance their bonsai tree. Areas covered include: Artistic perspective tools and equipment root pruning repotting wiring techniques trimming/pruning after-care basic pests and diseases. This is a hands-on course. Selection of material will be discussed in week 1 so bringing plant material first week is optional.
Learn the basic skills required to create your own bonsai. You will be taught how to prune wire and pot your trees - own several bonsai by the end of term. One field trip i.e. nursery visit or tree dig organised each term. Bring requirements listed on Confirmation/website.
