Flamenco Dance
The Flamenco Studio was established in 2000 by Simone Pope as a centre for flamenco dance tuition and performance in Brisbane. Since it's establishment it has become Brisbane's best known flamenco dance centre, offering regular general classes, private tuition, student performance groups, workshops, and its yearly student concerts with iiToma Flamenco!! Classes are available for beginners to advanced students, encompassing technique for upper body and feet, and specific choreographies. As Flamenco is not only a dance artform, Simone's aim is to teach students all of the elements of flamenco – not only steps, but also the important role of the music (guitar, singing and compas) as well as the history and culture of flamenco.
