GATE is proud to be a foundation member of Community Colleges Australia, which was launched in Canberra on May 30th, 2007 as the peak body for community-based learning organisations across Australia. Member colleges are committed to and governed by their local communities, and are currently delivering vocational and special interest courses to over 500,000 people a year from more than a thousand venues. Community Colleges membership connects us to a network of over 70 similar organisations, gives us the opportunity to form effective partnerships, and keeps GATE in touch with the most recent developments in community education.

In late May 2008, Diversitat and Geelong Adult Training and Education announced a merger of services.  The merger will allow for a strengthening of programs in the areas of Youth Services, Immigration and Welfare and Training.

To date, five trainers and one administrative staff member from GATE have taken up positions with Diversitat Youth Services in the old Post Office in Ryrie Street.  GATE's X-press Youth Services are now running alongside Diversitat's SWEET program, offering students a wider range of education options.
