Working on a sandstone sculpture block, learn to use hand tools while creating your own project then polish and finish the work. You will need a 200 cubic mm sandstone block, which is purchased from the tutor at a cost of $40. You will also need a lump hammer and sandstone chisel available at any hardware store) however students are advised not to purchase any of these tools prior to the first class - if you have these tools at home please bring them along to the first lesson. Bring safety goggles, work boots, respirator mask and ear plugs. Safety issues will be discussed at the first lesson. No concessions.
