The Certificate 3 Guarantee is a subsidised training program for eligible students living in Queensland. The Queensland Government provides funding for a range of Certificate III qualifications as well as foundation skills training.
In Queensland the Certificate 3 Guarantee assists eligible students and school leavers complete their first Certificate III qualification. Certificate III qualifications are considered the entry-level qualification most often needed to get a job, so the guarantee especially assists Year 12 graduates transition to employment.
One Course Only
Eligible students are only entitled to access one government subsidised Certificate III qualification. Students are encouraged to really take the time to consider the course you are choosing and make sure it is right for you because once enrolled your entitlement is considered finished.
Tiered Subsidies
The amount of government funding varies according to the qualification. Higher subsidies are allocated to industries with skill shortages or qualifications that develop important economic and industry skills.
Disadvantaged learners (concessional students), and those undertaking training in some regional and remote locations will also have a higher subsidy allocated to their training.
Fees Payable by Students
Students who enrol in courses under the Certificate 3 Guarantee are required to contribute to the costs of their training through a co-contribution fee. The fee varies and depends on the course selected as well as the training provider.
There are 16 courses approved for Certificate III Guarantee government funding. These are the most popular courses.
