If you live and breathe music and dream of producing sound for live audiences at top festivals, venues and stadiums – then this is the course for you.

This Live Sound-focused Diploma of Music provides you with foundation knowledge of live sound technologies and the live entertainment industry, with learning rooted in hands-on, practical experiences. The course has been co-developed with industry experts and is delivered in partnership with the Australian Institute of Music to provide you with world-class learning and opens the door to a range of careers in the music and entertainment industries.

Over one year (three trimesters), you will practise using a wide range of leading edge sound technologies to deliver professional live audio, while developing the aural and operational know-how to meet the demands of the dynamic world of live music.

Our small class sizes emphasise dedicated mentorship with our industry experienced instructors, providing the unique insights and in-demand skills necessary to thrive in the live music industry when you graduate.

Entry Requirements

All applicants will complete an interview and portfolio submission to demonstrate their preparedness to undertake the course.

If you are under 21 years old, you must have completed one of the following:

  • An Australian senior secondary year 12 certificate in the last two years (such as VCE or HSC), including the minimum English language requirements
  • An International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma qualification in the past two years
  • An AQF VET qualification (Certificate IV and above)
  • At least six months full-time tertiary study (AQF Level 5 or higher).

Applicants who are over 21 or do not meet the academic requirements above will be assessed on their work and/or life experience. Experience could include a combination of factors sufficient to demonstrate readiness for higher education, including mature age entry, professional experience, community involvement or work experience.
