Intensive English for Academic Purposes Evening Course Structure
The EAP program is a full-time major course consisting of 18 hours per week, with additional Evening Focus sessions (2 hours per week) and Conversation Classes (2 hours per week) to support learning. Classes run Monday to Friday with a consistent group, helping students build routine and steady progress.
The course is designed to prepare students for entry into Australian universities or colleges by combining IELTS preparation with essential academic skills. It helps learners improve speaking for tutorials and presentations, expand academic vocabulary and grammar, and strengthen reading, listening, and writing skills for academic contexts. Students also develop lecture listening skills, research abilities, and presentation skills, all supported by structured, up-to-date teaching materials and effective teaching methods for faster progress.
For entry into any other institutions, the most commonly required proof of English is an IELTS score. This means that while your Academic English course will prepare you for the academic challenges ahead of you, this cutting-edge program can also prepare you for the IELTS exam at the same time.
ELC’s Direct Entry program is recognised by over 30 renowned universities and colleges. This means that by completing coursework and regular assessments during your course, you can gain direct entry into their programs, without needing to take the IELTS exam. I can confidently say that choosing to study at ELC was one of the best decisions I made in Australia. I had a previous experience at one of the large English schools, so I have a solid basis for comparison."

I spent great time at ELC. The best thing is all of my teachers are supportive and motivational in every situation. They teach English in various ways (e.g. playing games, discussions, presentations), so that we can learn actively while having fun."
