This course focuses on helping students further develop their speaking, listening, and reading skills while strengthening academic writing abilities and study skills needed for tertiary education. Students will also improve formal speaking, group work, time management, and effective communication skills. In addition, the course provides an introduction to tertiary study in Australia, preparing students for the expectations of the Australian academic environment. Experienced teachers guide students in building the skills and confidence needed to succeed in further studies.

Students enrolling in the course must be at least 18 years old and meet one of the English entry requirements. Applicants may qualify by completing General English at the Upper Intermediate level, achieving an equivalent internationally recognised English test score such as IELTS 5.5 for Advanced or IELTS 5.0 for Foundation, or demonstrating the required proficiency through an Ironwood internal English assessment.

Assessment will be continuous throughout the course. Feedback and timely intervention will be provided to ensure you meet your expected progress.
