This General English course focuses on developing core listening, speaking, reading, and writing skills while improving vocabulary, grammar, and overall communication abilities. Students also gain a better understanding of Australian culture and accent, helping them communicate more confidently in everyday situations. The course duration ranges from 5 to 48 weeks depending on the student’s English proficiency level and learning goals, with classes available from Elementary to Upper Intermediate levels. General English also serves as a pathway to English for Academic Purposes (EAP). Before starting the course, students complete an interview and pre-course assessment to ensure they are placed at the most suitable level for their abilities and goals.

Students enrolling in the course must be at least 18 years old and begin at a minimum Elementary English level, as Beginner-level students are not accepted. Before receiving an offer, students will complete an interview and may also undertake a placement test to ensure they are enrolled at the appropriate proficiency level. Students who have completed internationally recognised English proficiency tests such as IELTS or PTE may be placed directly into the suitable course level based on their results.
