CHC43415 Certificate IV in Leisure and Health prepares you to take part in the design, delivery and evaluation of leisure and health activities and programs for the people you support. You may work in a residential aged care facility, a community agency or a day centre, carrying out specialised tasks and functions that relate to leisure and health. You are responsible for your own work, and you carry it out under direct or indirect supervision within your organisation’s guidelines. The focus is on meaningful activity — the music group, the garden, the outing, the one-to-one visit — and on the planning and documentation that sits behind it.
At NTA the course is delivered over a minimum of six months. Theory is delivered online as structured, scheduled study with set submission dates, and you attend our Burwood campus for simulation and practical sessions. You complete 17 units of competency — 10 core and 7 electives — and at least 120 hours of work placement, which NTA coordinates through its network of host organisations.
