Furniture Finishing is all about adding the final ‘wow’ factor to a piece of furniture. You may be employed in the production of new furniture, applying stains and coatings to the finished items, or in the repair and restoration of older pieces, giving them a new lease on life. You’ll learn to estimate and cost projects, how to use hand and power tools, and how prepare furniture surfaces and apply finishes as required. The Certificate III in Furniture Finishing also offers opportunities to specialise in skilled techniques like French polishing that are always in demand.
