Get qualified for engineering work on vessels up to 80 metres long with the Certificate III in Maritime Operations (Marine Engine Driver Grade 2 Near Coastal) (MAR30818). It’s a nationally recognised training course and graduates can apply to the Australian Maritime Safety Authority for their ‘Marine engine driver grade 2 near coastal’ licence’. The course is completed in a 4-week intensive (plus external assignments) and covers all the elements of shipboard safety and survival — as well as skills in low voltage electrical systems, hull maintenance, marine internal combustion engines, propulsion and auxiliary systems.
