The Bachelor of Commerce (Honours) is a one-year (full-time) appended honours degree that high-achieving students may apply to study following completion of the Bachelor of Commerce (or equivalent). Develop your research skills by undertaking advanced coursework and conducting a supervised but independent research project.

Designed for high-achieving Business graduates, this course is for students seeking advanced research opportunities. It suits students who are motivated, organised, and eager to gain specialised knowledge while working one-on-one with experts in their discipline.

Econometrics Major
Honours in Econometrics is a one-year (full-time) program comprised of both coursework and research. Students complete:

  • five honours-level coursework units of study that extend the knowledge and skills acquired in their undergraduate degree; and
  • a thesis of approximately 15,000 words.

Students work on their thesis throughout the program, under the supervision of an academic staff member. The thesis is a research-based dissertation on a theoretical or applied topic of intellectual interest to the student. The research should identify an area for investigation which makes a relevant contribution to and extends the body of knowledge in your chosen domain. The quality of the research design, development of research question, application of appropriate methodologies, and interpretation of findings, as well as the student’s ability to effectively communicate the research are assessed in the thesis.
