Gain the specialised skills and knowledge required to produce work as an artist. Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander arts are a rich contribution to Australia’s diverse contemporary culture and national identity. Indigenous artists are using their art as their voice as they share the cultures and traditions of their people. Now more than ever artists are depicting their culture in their art and showcasing it in mainland exhibitions.
In this course you will gain a well-developed command of technique in Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural arts. Develop yourself as an artist and produce work that expresses your own cultural identity. Prepare stencils and screens for textile printing and experiment with techniques to produce paintings.
Successful completion of this course will prepare you to produce art and work in the Arts Industry.
