First Aid Training is a requirement for employment in many workplaces and is also a component of the SIS30315 Certificate III in Fitness.
It is completed as a combination of online study and participation in a practical workshop at our Melbourne facility. The online component takes approximately 4 hours to complete. It must be completed prior to the practical workshop and is assessed by a series of quizzes.
The workshop runs from 9am – 4pm and is a very practical session including lots of role plays and scenarios relevant to a fitness and sport setting. It allows you to consolidate what you have learned in the online component in a ‘hands-on’ manner. You will be taught and practice CPR on manikins and run through different emergency scenarios that may occur in everyday life, while exercising or on the sporting field/court.
The aim of this First Aid course is to develop your competence and confidence in providing emergency first aid. This includes calling for help, the ability to respond to first aid situations, casualty assessment, decision-making and basic life support functions including cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) for adults and children.
