Librarian

A Librarian provides a range of services to patrons in a public library or specialist library facility. You’ll manage borrowing systems and assist people to process their loans. You might return books and other items to shelves and assist patrons to find items they need. Librarians maintain cataloguing systems and may organise events such as children’s story time sessions or special library displays.

Librarians should be highly organised and able to maintain library systems. You’ll need to enjoy working with library patrons and display strong customer service skills. Librarians should have strong communication skills and be confident working in a team environment. It’s important that you are passionate about books and enjoy sharing this with library patrons.
