Job roles within the sector range from farmhands, farm business managers and include numerous agricultural service roles. This sector is a leader in the uptake and development of new technologies and attracting investment on an international level. Australian producers have a reputation for green and safe agricultural products which provides a marketing advantage that must be retained. As a result, biosecurity will be an important issue as Australia develops its export trade in agricultural goods. There is an increased interest in the area of carbon farming for landowners especially in the area of Emissions Reduction Fund projects which are supported by the Clean Energy Regulator.
