AUR21520 Certificate II in Automotive Cylinder Head Reconditioning

Develop the basic skills and knowledge needed to start your automotive career. This entry-level course will increase your employability as an apprentice.

According to the Australian Government's Job Outlook service, demand for motor mechanics (including cylinder head reconditioners) grew strongly over the past five years with employers finding it hard to fill vacancies. This is a very large occupational field with job opportunities available in both urban and rural areas.

This course will give you the skills to perform a range of tasks related to the service and repair of engine cylinder heads and other components of light or heavy vehicles. You will learn how to identify automotive faults and use a range of tools and equipment to complete basic inspection and service of automotive systems such as engines and cooling systems.

This course will set you on the path to finding an apprenticeship in a wide range of automotive occupations such as light vehicle mechanic, automotive electrician, or diesel fitter. You may also seek employment as a vehicle service assistant or underbody serviceperson.
