Diploma of Automotive Technology

Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)

The Diploma of Automotive Technology (AUR50216) prepares learners for advanced diagnostic and technical roles involving complex vehicle systems. This qualification builds high-level analytical and problem-solving skills required to evaluate faults across mechanical, electrical, electronic, and integrated automotive systems.

Learners develop specialist capability to analyse and evaluate faults in braking systems, steering and suspension systems, engines and fuel systems, transmissions and driveline systems, body management systems, engine management systems, air conditioning and HVAC systems, and vehicle safety systems. The course also develops skills in documenting specifications, estimating and quoting modifications, and applying advanced diagnostic strategies.

Delivery is via a blended model combining face-to-face classroom learning, intensive workshop-based diagnostic training, and structured online learning. This approach ensures strong theoretical understanding alongside advanced hands-on diagnostic capability.

On successful completion, graduates are prepared for senior diagnostic roles, advanced master technician positions, or progression into automotive management or specialist technical pathways.
