Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)The CHC50425 Diploma of Youth Work supports learners to step into a profession focused on providing quality care, guidance, and advocacy for young people. This nationally recognised qualification prepares you to design programs, support young people through challenges, and contribute to safer, healthier communities.
This course will help you build the knowledge and capability needed for a profession focused on quality care and effective youth support. It also gives you the opportunity to guide young people, advocate for fairness, and contribute to stronger, more inclusive communities.

Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, or hold a visa with full work and study rights
- Have completed their education to a level which is equivalent to an Australian Senior High School Year 12 or successful completion of a Level 4literacy & numeracy assessment or has completed an AQF Certificate IV level qualification or higher
- Be capable of completing 100 hours of work placement in a suitable workplace
- Successfully complete an ACSF LLN test at the required level (in reading, writing, and numeracy)
- Have sound computer skills, including:
- Ability to navigate software systems
- Intermediate use of Microsoft Word (formatting, tables, editing) to complete assessments - Have access to a laptop or desktop computer with a reliable internet connection to complete online modules and attend virtual Zoom classes
- Have a valid Working with Children Check (or equivalent) prior to placement.
- Hold a valid Police Check (or be willing to obtain one before placement)
- Have completed any required immunisations, including COVID-19 and flu vaccinations, depending on the placement facility's policy or government health guidelines
- Complete a Pre-Training Review interview (via phone) to confirm eligibility and readiness to undertake the course
