Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET) The CHCSS00103 Mental Health Peer Work Skill Set at Centacare Institute is a nationally recognised program designed specifically for individuals with lived experience of mental illness, either as a consumer or a carer. The course provides a pathway for new entrants into the mental health workforce, equipping them with the practical skills and ethical framework needed to support others on their recovery journeys. Participants learn to purposefully apply their own lived experience to foster hope and empowerment, while developing essential competencies in legal and ethical work practices and peer-support methodologies. This skill set also serves as a direct credit toward higher qualifications, such as the Certificate IV in Mental Health Peer Work.
