A Signal Technician performs electrical work on railway signal equipment. You might install new equipment or perform maintenance on existing systems. Signal Technicians carry out inspections and testing and make adjustments when required. You may also be called out to repair faults in signalling systems when needed.
Signal Technicians should have strong technical abilities and be able to adapt their skills to suit a range of circumstances. It’s important you can follow correct procedures and have good problem solving abilities. Signal Technicians must be able to work as part of a team and have good analytical skills. You’ll need to be able to communicate clearly in this role.
