Combine the clinical, technological and business aspects of health to improve patient care and support health systems. Queensland’s only heath information management course offers industry placements during your study.
Health information management combines the clinical, technological and business aspects of health. Health information managers collect, manage and report health data to support the clinical care of patients and also to contribute to the management of health services.
Your study will focus on business and people management, including analysing and managing budgets. IT units will support your understanding and use of digital health systems. Health units will develop knowledge in medical terminology, the Australian healthcare system, clinical classifications and casemix management.
Through studies in health informatics, management, data analytics and clinical information about diseases and procedures, graduates have a wide variety of career opportunities across the health sector.
