Chemistry holds a central position in science, providing foundational knowledge that interlinks subjects such as physics, biology, medicine, and environmental science. At its core, our world is governed by chemical exchanges – and understanding these interactions not only helps us understand natural phenomena but also empowers us to innovate and develop new technologies, materials, and solutions to global challenges.
In this major, we highlight the importance of chemistry as a core science, explaining its impact on various areas, from medicine and drug development, to understanding environmental issues and finding solutions.
A solid understanding of chemistry equips you to pursue a varied and rich scientific career in areas like research, mining and engineering, healthcare, education and many more. Without a solid grounding in chemistry, our comprehension of many scientific domains remains incomplete.
