If you hold a recognised bachelor degree, the Master of Teaching (Secondary) – with its focus on evidence-based learning and teaching that has a positive impact on student learning and wellbeing – will enable you to gain the knowledge, skills and qualifications required to teach in secondary schools or to work in associated fields such as curriculum planning, educational research and policy development.
If you have significant industry experience in a science, maths or technology profession and wish to train as a science or maths teacher, you can apply to undertake the Mid-Career Transition to Teaching Program. In addition to generous funding, you’ll be employed in a school while completing your studies.

Prior studies must meet the secondary subject content knowledge requirements of the NSW Educational Standards Authority (NESA) for the subject(s) the applicant is intending to teach.
AQF levels
*'Bachelor’s qualification' relates to an AQF level 7 bachelor's qualification or recognised equivalent.
English language requirements
All Macquarie University applicants are required to provide evidence of English language proficiency. The standard of English required for entry is based on the IELTS Academic test. Other accepted evidence of English proficiency, including minimum scores on other English tests and qualifications, can be checked using the conversion tool.
