CHC43121 Certificate IV in Disability Support builds on the disability support work you have already done at Certificate III level. It reflects the role of workers who support people with disability in community settings and in people’s own homes, in a way that builds greater independence, self-reliance, community participation and wellbeing. You work to a person-centred approach, work to and may contribute to an individualised plan, and work without direct supervision. At this level you may also be asked to supervise or coordinate a small team.
The skills in this qualification must be applied in accordance with the appropriate Commonwealth and State or Territory legislation, Australian standards and industry codes of practice.
At NTA this course is delivered from our Burwood campus in Sydney. Your theory is delivered online through NTA’s learning platform, and your simulation and practical sessions are run face-to-face in our purpose-built simulation environment with trainers who work in the sector. You then complete 120 hours of supervised work placement with a host disability organisation, which NTA coordinates. Intakes run regularly through the year.
