Diploma of Building and Construction (Building)
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)TIV’s CPC50220 – Diploma of Building and Construction (Building) is crafted to meet the requirements set by the Victorian Building Authority for registration as both Domestic Builder (Unlimited) and Commercial Builder (Limited Low Rise).
It covers a comprehensive range of skills and knowledge that are crucial for aspiring builders to excel in the industry.
Course Highlights
- Gain essential skills for the Victorian Building Authority registration in residential or commercial building.
- Learn building codes, estimating, site management, OHS policies, contracts, materials, Labor scheduling, and business management.
- Receive industry materials including the National Construction Code (Vol. 1) and customisable templates.
Course Duration
- 1 Online class per week (6:00 pm – 9:00 pm)
- 1 Compulsory face to face Saturday class which is an Audit of a commercial site
- Onsite class duration is 4 hours
70 weeks including holidays/breaks
Up to 12 weeks of additional student support if required

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
Age: 18 years or older
English Language:
- Proof of meeting one of the following:Passed VCE English or VCE ESL at year 12 level or equivalent.
- Demonstrated sufficient LLN skills through pre-training review process.
Pre-Training Review:
Evaluation includes assessment of:
- Language, Literacy, and Numeracy skills.
- Understanding of course structure.
- Computer literacy.
- Motivation for course enrolment.

The Trade Institute of Victoria (TIV), established in 2007, is a leading RTO for building and construction courses in Victoria, with five locations.
