Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)Our CHC51015 Diploma of Counselling prepares learners for a wide range of professional counselling roles where compassionate practice, clear ethical guidance, and strong interpersonal communication contribute to positive outcomes for individuals and families.
This nationally recognised qualification reflects the real needs of counselling work across healthcare services, community services, and private practice environments. Learners will develop the ability to build safe and supportive therapeutic relationships, apply recognised counselling theories, assist clients through complex situations, and work within professional legal and ethical standards.
This course provides learners with the knowledge and confidence required to work in professional counselling roles and to apply for registration with the Australian Counselling Association. Registration with the Australian Counselling Association is assessed and determined by an independent third party, and Hader Institute of Education has no influence over the outcome of this decision.

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
To ensure that learners can fully participate in the course and meet all requirements, the following entry conditions apply:
- Be at least 18 years of age
- Must be an Australian citizen, a permanent resident, or hold a visa with full work and study rights.
- Have completed their education to a level which is equivalent to an Australian Senior High School Year 12 or successful completion of a Level 4 literacy and numeracy assessment or has completed an Australian Qualifications Framework Certificate IV level qualification or higher.
- Have sound computer skills, including:
◦ Ability to navigate software systems.
◦ Intermediate use of Microsoft Word (formatting, tables, editing) to complete assessments. - Have access to a laptop or desktop computer with a reliable internet connection to complete online modules and attend virtual Zoom classes.
- Complete a Pre-Training Review interview (via phone) to confirm eligibility and readiness to undertake the course.
