Nationally Recognised Higher EducationThe new Graduate Certificate in Health (Emergency Nursing), offered online in combination with structured work-integrated learning as part of your ongoing employment, aims to address the specialised nursing workforce and skills shortage, made evident in the 2018 Victorian Government Department of Jobs and Small Business, Labour Market Research Report on Nurses in Victoria.
Throughout this course you will examine key aspects of emergency patient care and emergency nursing practice, whilst also developing your analytical, leadership and communication skills.
This course is suitable for registered nurses practicing in a clinical area, considered commensurate with course learning objectives. Graduates may work in emergency departments and urgent care centres upon successful completion.
Other Graduate Certificate in Health, Graduate Diploma of Health and Master of Health study options are also available. Please note, this course is offered part-time only (duration is 1 year).

Entry requirements
Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
An applicant must have successfully completed a three year Bachelor level qualification (or equivalent) in a related health cognate discipline area and are employed in at least 0.5 EFT in an emergency clinical setting
Admission to the Graduate Certificate in Health (Emergency Nursing) is contingent upon the candidate’s ability to demonstrate current and satisfactory registration with AHPRA as a Registered Nurse and a minimum of 0.5 EFT current and ongoing employment in an appropriate emergency clinical setting.
