PSC is a dual sector provider offering both Degree and Advanced Diploma courses. Both have been developed with the specialised know how that comes from 40 years as an innovative and experienced photographic educator.
Building on the Undergraduate Certificate you’ll undertake a deeper exploration of cinematographic techniques, including advanced lighting, dynamic camera movements and visual composition. You’ll examine the relationship between images, design and refine your ability to craft compelling imagery through technical and creative decisions. You’ll be encouraged to develop creative projects that challenge and push the boundaries of moving image expression.
In meeting the challenges of the new media reality, you’ll learn to embrace AI to enhance both your creative production and theoretical learning and, to use it both ethically and creatively, from navigating AI bias to representation in storytelling.
Learn moreIn this course, the emphasis is on digital capture, workflow and digital technology skills, which are so important in today’s world. You will cover all the technical aspects needed to produce creative photographic images, ensuring you gain comprehensive skills in digital capture, workflow and image management. You will further these skills with digital post-production and professional printing techniques as you progress. In addition, you will explore shooting on location and in the studio, using tungsten lights, speedlights and reflectors. Additionally, you will work with mixed lighting and lighting design in the studio, introducing you to studio photography, lighting and creative image construction.
Learn moreThe Undergraduate Certificate of Photography provides pathways into further study or employment. Once you have completed the course, you are eligible to gain direct entry into Semester 2 of the 1st year of the Bachelor of Photography degree. By exploring a range of photographic genres and visual approaches, you will develop your own photography practice, as well as learn about the history of photography and the influence it has had on contemporary photographic styles.
