This Electrical Spotter course is recognized by Energy Safe Victoria (ESV) and the Victorian WorkSafe Authority, as meeting the requirements for spotting near overhead and underground assets.

This nationally recognised unit of competency specifies the outcomes required to undertake Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) induction training within the construction industry. It requires the ability to demonstrate personal awareness of OHS legislative requirements and the basic principles of risk management and prevention of injury and illness in the construction industry.

This nationally recognised manual handling training program is specifically designed for participants who are required skills and experience to use manual handling methods and is relevant to all industries and workplaces including the construction, warehousing, health and catering industries or for those working in an office where the main duties involve repetition of movement.

This nationally recognised unit is designed for people who wish to develop the skills and knowledge needed to operate an elevated work platform (EWP) such as a scissor lift or a boom-type elevated work platform with a boom length of less than 11 metres where a “High Risk Work Licence” is not required.

This Elevated Work Platform Training or Boom Ticket Course will give you all the knowledge to gain your Elevated Work Platform Licence. There are several different EWP Licence requirements in Victoria, which include the WorkSafe EWP Licence. This type of licence can often be referred to as an EWP Licence, Boom Licence, Over 11m Boom Ticket, EWP ticket over 11 Metres.

Star Training & Assessing is WorkSafe accredited to deliver the LO Forklift Licence, also known as the Order Picker or Stock Picker Forklift Licence in Victoria. It covers what equipment is most suitable to put out different types of fires and how to correctly use that equipment. Upon completion, applicants will understand the theory and practical application of using Fire Extinguishers, Fire Hoses and Fire Blankets.

This nationally recognised unit is designed to provide participants currently working or intending to work at heights in VIC, with the knowledge and skills to safely work in any height situation.

The course is primarily aimed at general construction, maintenance, mining, large factories or other work situations. The course content includes occupational health and safety awareness, identifying and controlling hazards, fall arrest and fall restraint systems and equipment selection and use.

This nationally recognised unit is appropriate for those working in operational roles where they are required to operate truck or trailer mounted attenuators when carrying out traffic management activities in civil construction. It includes planning and preparing, using radio communication, operating and positioning truck or trailer mounted attenuator, using traffic controls, and cleaning up.

This training course will increase the participants’ understanding of the operations carried out by directional drillers and how directional and horizontal wells are planned and optimized. This unit describes a participant’s skills and knowledge required to conduct horizontal directional drilling in Civil construction and Drilling. This unit is appropriate for those working in driller roles.

This nationally recognised unit is appropriate for those working in operational roles where they are required to identify, locate and protect underground services. This unit provides participants with the skills and knowledge required to identify, locate and protect underground services in the Civil Construction and Utilities Industries. Students will learn the use of underground service locating equipment along with management of risks arising from the presence of above-ground, overhead, and underground services in the vicinity of workplaces and in particular the use of safe working procedures (SWMS) and Dial Before You Dig plans.
