Workplaces of the future need innovative leaders who can see the bigger picture, with the human-focused and transferable skills you’ll gain in a humanities and social sciences degree. The Monash Bachelor of Arts gives you flexibility and choice to tailor your degree to suit your interests, as well as our Professional Futures program to give you the skills employers seek and value. And with funded overseas study to expand your international networks and cultural agility, and dedicated teams to help you with work placement and peer mentoring, our Monash Arts degree will set you up with the tools you need for career success.

Why choose human geography?
Human geography explores the relationship between people and their environment including major challenges such as rapid urbanisation, environmental degradation, climate change, uneven global development, rising socioeconomic inequality and poverty. We explore the causes, consequences and possible solutions to some of the most important issues facing human societies today: environmental degradation, climate change, globalisation, social inequity and poverty, natural disasters and human vulnerability. Human geography will give you insights into how to analyse, deconstruct and think creatively about urban and regional development, environmental policy and management.
