The Indigenous Studies major prepare students for entry into the increasing number of fields in which Indigenous people and cultures participate. It offers unique perspectives on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander histories and culture. Themes include Indigenous cultural production, key thinkers and concepts, settler and Indigenous environmental ethics, Aboriginal women and colonialism, Indigenous health, and issues relating to land, law and philosophy.

Indigenous Studies prepares students for large range of careers as Indigenous participation and issues become increasingly embedded in all aspects of industry, small business, government, health, law, the arts, media, and education at primary, secondary and tertiary levels. Indigenous studies will give Indigenous and non-Indigenous students an edge.
