Thinking about a career in aged care or disability support? The CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support gives you the practical skills to help older people and people with disability live well, at home, in the community or in residential care. You can choose to specialise in Ageing, Disability, or Ageing and Disability.

At Skills Generation, every enrolment starts with a conversation. Before you sign up, we do a complete run-through with you to understand what you want to achieve and make sure this is the right course to get you there. If a different course would suit your goal better, we’ll tell you. We’ll also help you work out the best financial pathway for you, so you can access the course you need in a way that works for you.

You’ll study online to suit your own schedule, around your work, family and other commitments. Your first 5 units include structured Zoom classes to help you get started and meet other online students, and you’ll have regular Zoom sessions with a trainer who has worked in the care sector. Most students finish in 6 to 12 months, studying around 10 to 15 hours a week. You’ll also complete 120 hours of work placement, and our team will help you find a suitable host organisation.

Before you start

• A computer with reliable internet
• A language, literacy and numeracy check (we’ll help with this)
• For placement: a police check, current First Aid certificate, flu vaccination and Disability Worker Screening Card. A Blue Card is also required for the Disability and Ageing and Disability specialisations.
• A Unique Student Identifier (USI)
