You will gain hands-on skills using hand tools and workshop equipment. These skills will allow you to remove and replace vehicle mechanical and electrical systems, strip down engines, boxes, steering and suspension. When studying this qualification, you will learn how to carry out a range of routine procedural, clerical, administrative or operational tasks that require technology and business skills. You will learn how to apply a broad range of competencies using some discretion, judgment, and applicable theoretical knowledge.Students will learn how to service, repair, and diagnose faults in motor vehicles weighing up to 4.5 tonnes. They will learn how to diagnose service and repair faults in light vehicle engines, transmissions, suspensions, steering, brakes and electrical systems and components.
