CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support prepares you for the role of a support worker who carries out specialised tasks and functions in aged services, in residential facilities, in clients’ homes or in community-based settings. You take responsibility for your own work within your organisation’s guidelines, and you help maintain quality service delivery by developing, facilitating and reviewing individualised service plans. At this level you may also be asked to show leadership and take limited responsibility for the quantity and quality of the work of others, within defined parameters.
NTA delivers CHC43015 as a hybrid course over a minimum of six months. Your theory is delivered online through structured, scheduled study, and your simulation and practical skills sessions run face-to-face at the NTA Burwood campus in Sydney, where you practise in a purpose-built simulation environment before you go on placement. You also complete a minimum of 120 hours of work placement in an aged care service, which NTA coordinates through its network of host organisations. Your trainers are Registered Nurses with clinical experience in aged care.
