Course in Identifying, Reporting and Preventing Abuse and/or Grooming of People with Disabilities
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)Workers delivering support and services are critical to people with disability, their families and carers. You are also the person most likely to witness an incident or have something disclosed to you. When this happens, your response matters!
Successful completion of this course provides participants with the skills and knowledge to apply a human rights based approach to all aspects of work, including identifying indicators and signs of abuse and/or grooming.
Participants will also be able to contribute to increasing the protective factors of the service user and their family, as well as empower the service user and their family to disclose and report abuse.
Other skills covered are to identify immediate risks and respond to disclosed, identified or suspected abuse.
