Careers in early childhood education and development are as diverse as they are in demand. To help cultivate and nurture our youngest people is a vocational calling that requires care and empathy, as well as creativity and excitement. Our diploma graduates can confidently enter industry as early childhood educators knowing that they have a balance of skills, knowledge and attitudes that are valued by industry leading employers. They are equipped with the capacity to design and implement curriculum in early childhood education and care services. In doing so they work to implement an approved learning framework within the requirements of the Education and Care Services National Regulations and the National Quality Standard. They use specialised knowledge and analyse and apply theoretical concepts to diverse work situations. and may also have responsibility supervising volunteers and other staff.
Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.
