Qualifications: Mandatory for course entry
Admission to candidature for this course required:
- a bachelor's degree from any discipline other than Law.
We also welcome applications from law graduates with a degree from a non-common law jurisdiction. These applicants may receive credit for some of their previous studies toward the JD.
Domestic students
Domestic students are assessed on the better of a combination of a secondary school leaving qualification such as the NSW Higher School Certificate and completed tertiary study or completed tertiary study by itself. Applicants are ranked by merit and offers for available places are issued according to the ranking.
First Nations applicants will be assessed under the Gadigal Program pathway. In addition to your UAC application please submit a postgraduate Gadigal application form.
nternational students
International students are assessed on completed tertiary study. They are assessed using a minimum rank and offers are made according to this minimum standard.
English language requirements
Mandatory for course entry
You may need to provide evidence of your English proficiency to study with us.
- IELTS score: A minimum result of 7.5 overall and a minimum result of 7.0 in each band
- TOEFL - IBT score: A minimum result of 105 overall including a minimum result of 23 in Reading, Listening and Speaking and 25 in Writing
- Pearsons Test of English: A minimum result of 76 overall and a minimum result of 68 in each band
