The Certificate IV in Training and Assessment reflects the entire trainer and assessor role and equips graduates with a broad toolkit of knowledge and skills to approach a range of training and assessment activities with confidence and professionalism.

This course is specifically for experienced VET Trainers and Assessors who hold either the TAE40110 or TAE40116 version of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.People who have previously transitioned between Certificate IV in Training and Assessment qualifications will remember that much of it was based on equivalent units and credit transfer with just a few gaps here and there. This time the TAE40122 is vastly different from its predecessors. 

This skill set provides VET practitioners with the assessor competencies to meet the Standards for RTOs requirements.

The Assessor skill set covers the following 3 units of competency:

• TAEASS412 Assess competence
• TAEASS413 Participate in assessment validation
• TAEDES411 Use nationally recognised training products to meet vocational training needs

Your ability to deliver excellent training and thorough assessment begins with your choice to receive the highest standard of education from an RTO who is truly passionate about supporting people throughout their journey to becoming remarkable trainers and assessors.

Foundation skills are basic skills that people require in order to be employable, such as reading, writing, communication and basic numeracy skills.

This skill set focuses on the ability to recognise foundation skill requirements in nationally recognised training programs, and to provide the right support, whether in a work, learning, or assessment setting.

This skill set is primarily used by teachers of the FSK – Foundation Skills Training Package.

If you teach and assess FSK units of competency, there is a requirement to hold what was previously the TAESS00009 Address Foundation Skills in Vocational Practice Skill Set. The current equivalent of TAESS00009 is this skill set; the TAESS00026.

This course is particularly useful for those who hold the older TAE40110 version of the Certificate IV in Training and Assessment and want to upgrade it so they can continue teaching at TAFE and other Registered Training Organisations (RTO). TAEASS512 Design and Develop Assessment Tools is a unit that teaches individuals how to design, develop, trial, and review assessment tools that meet competency requirements in a vocational education and training (VET) context.

A nationally recognised skill set designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge to deliver training under supervision in the workplace. It is ideal for experienced workers who need to guide others in specific tasks or processes.
