Box Hill Institute
Certificate I in Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)The Certificate I in Initial Adult Literacy and Numeracy helps you to develop skills in literacy and numeracy so that you have a greater opportunity to achieve your future goals like participating in the community, exploring further study options or gaining work placement and employment opportunities.
We make learning fun with hands on activities that you would come across in everyday situations in your personal or working life. Teaching will support your individual needs and will compliment the learning you are doing in other programs.
The aim of the literacy learning units is for you to be able to perform simple reading and writing tasks and grow your oral communication skills. The numeracy units help you to more confidently tell the time, weigh and measure and understand money better.
You will be supported by our friendly teacher who will encourage your active involvement in class and engage you with strategies that suit how you learn best.
Please note: This course will change in the near future and alterations to the structure will occur. All new students will be enrolled into the new course.
