This course covers the mandatory requirements for all new entrants into the Security Industry in New South Wales. This course will provide you with all the skills, knowledge and attributes required to work as an unarmed static and/or mobile patrol guard, a loss prevention officer working in retail, a crowd controller at clubs, pubs, sporting events and concerts, and a control room operator. At the successful completion of this course you will be able to apply for either a 1 year or 5-year NSW Security Licence issued by the Security Licensing Enforcement Directorate.

Entry Requirements
There are no formal academic requirements
Students must be at least 17 years and 6 months of age to commence training and they must be over 18 years of age to apply for a security licence.
You must be an Australian Permanent Resident or Citizen or hold a Visa that entitles you to full work rights in Australia (persons on Student or Holiday Visa are not permitted to undergo security training).
You must have had NO criminal convictions in the past 10 years or NO non-convictions in the past 5 years.
You must provide 100 points of Identification on Enrolment.
You must complete and pass a Language, Literacy, and Numeracy (LLN) Test as part of the enrolment process.
To be eligible for fee free training students must also meet the NSW Department of Education Eligibility requirements.
Persons over the age of 18 wishing to gain a NSW security licence. Must be an Australian Citizen or resident and have a minimum of Grade 10 education. This course is offered to domestic students only. Students must also be physically able to complete first aid which includes the ability to perform CPR on an adult and baby manikin for an uninterrupted 2 minutes.
Learners must have access to a computer to complete the online study component. Students can be skilled or unskilled but must meet the above requirements. Students who are already working in the industry(skilled workers ie ex police or RSA Marshalls) may complete the online component in a shorter timeframe than the 3 months allocated. Unskilled workers new to the industry may take up to 3 months to complete the online component before being scheduled for the face to face assessments.
