This qualification reflects the role of a security officer responsible for maintaining safety and security by patrolling, protecting or guarding property while unarmed, and screening entry, monitoring behaviour, and removing persons from premises. CPP20218 is intended to align with occupational licensing outcomes including:
- Security officer – unarmed guard
- Security officer – crowd controller
Important: Completing this course is a key requirement for Queensland security licensing, but licensing is decided by the Queensland Government (Office of Fair Trading) and is not guaranteed.

Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
There are no formal entry requirements for CPP20218. However, in practice, you should be able to:
- Communicate clearly in English (verbal and written)
- Participate safely in practical scenarios (standing, moving, basic physical techniques)
- Bring required photo ID for verification
- Minimum age for QLD licensing is 18+
