In 2015 there were over 32,000 people employed as bakers and pastrycooks with job openings over the next five years expected to be between 10,000 and 25,000.

In this course you will learn how to prepare fillings and produce a range of baked goods including pastry products, sponge cakes, puddings, artisan products, biscuits, and cookies. You'll also develop core industry-relevant skills such as implementing food safety procedures and scheduling cake and pastry production in a commercial baking environment.

Successful completion of this course will prepare you with the skills required to establish your career as a pastrycook, chef patissier, or pastry sous chef in a commercial baking environment.
