Certificate III in Individual Support
Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)Our CHC33021 Certificate III in Individual Support prepares workers for providing tailored support to individuals in community and in residential environments, considering their unique needs and exercising professional judgement. This role builds accountability and responsibility for achieving expected outcomes. Workers have both practical and theoretical knowledge to provide person-centred support.
Upon successfully completing this nationally recognised qualification, students should be able to:
- improve workplace communication skills and provide person-centred support
- demonstrate safe work practices for direct client care
- perform day-to-day activities in health and community care industries

Domestic Students
- There are no mandated entry requirements.
The following will be required for the enrolment process:
- Unique Student Identifier (USI)
- verifiable identification documents
- completion of the LLN assessment.
Students will require access to appropriate technology and internet if the materials are delivered online.
We collaborate with employers to support students in the workplace. Workplace assessments may be required for some units of competency.
The following is required for Work Placement:
- National Police Check clearance certificate
- NDIS Worker Check (NDISWC)
- Working with Children Check (WWCC).
Additional requirements may be stipulated by the state public health orders or the workplace.

- NSW Subsidised Training This training may be subsidised by the NSW Government for eligible individuals. Places are limited.
This training is subsidised for trainees by the NSW Government, under the Smart and Skilled program. The following fees are incurred by the student depending on their eligibility.
- Traineeship*: $0
- Non-Subsidised (Full Fee): $6,500
*Fee exemptions may apply for eligible students and is conditional on Government Policy and Funding Arrangements.
To be eligible for funding, students must be:
- A permanent New South Wales resident
- Aged 15 or older and not currently attending school
- An Australian citizen, New Zealand citizen, Australian permanent residents (including humanitarian entrants), or temporary resident with the right visa and work permits on the pathway to permanent residency
- Not currently be enrolled or have the qualification or similar qualification at the same level they are enrolling into
- Must be a fulltime or part time employee. Casual workers must become employed as a permanent worker to be eligible.
- Prior to the commencement of the traineeship, trainees must have been employed by their traineeship employer for less than:
a. 3 months if they worked an average of 30 hours or more a week;
