Provide responsible service of alcohol (RSA)

Nationally Recognised Vocational Education and Training (VET)

RSA is a mandatory course that you must undertake if you want to work in any venue in NSW where alcohol is sold or supplied.

Depending on your duties you may also need Responsible Conduct of Gambling (RCG) training. Gaming machines are allowed in registered clubs and hotels and venue staff have additional responsibilities when operating gaming machines.

Austrain Academy is an approved provider of NSW RSA & RCG training on behalf of Liquor and Gaming NSW.

This course is a 6½ hour face to face classroom course that will prepare you for work in the hospitality industry. A NSW competency card can be obtained on successful completion and is valid for 5 years. The course fee includes the cost of the competency card.

You will also be issued with a National RSA Statement of Attainment (SITHFAB021), which may allow you to work in other states in Australia, depending on each state's requirements.
